Another insurance tax goes, but more need to go

The NSW Government has decided to abolish the Insurance Protection Tax Act in the 2011/12 financial year. It is fantastic to see yet another tax removed from the prudent and risk averse.

Hopefully NSW will follow the lead of the Victorian Government and also remove the unjust Fire Service Levy. What no one wants is another disaster such as the Victorian ‘Black Saturday’ bushfires to occur, which saw loss of life and a terrible effect on the community and the economy, before common sense prevails.
